U.K. Global Asset Manager
Technology Foundation and Operational Readiness Support for a Wholly Foreign-Owned Fund Management Company in China
Client Overview
The client is a U.K.-based global asset manager that established a wholly foreign-owned fund management company in China to conduct domestic fund management-related business.
During the establishment phase of its China business, the client needed to build a local technology foundation capable of supporting formal operations. This technology foundation extended beyond the workplace environment to include local data center and industry cloud resources, designed with resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery as core principles to support business systems, data connectivity, business continuity, and future operational scalability.
For the client, this was not a simple office IT implementation. It was the establishment of a critical technology foundation required before the China business could enter formal operations.
Challenge
The central challenge was not the delivery of any single system or device. It was how to bring together the workplace environment, local data center resources, industry cloud platforms, carrier services, vendor delivery, and group IT requirements into a stable, controlled, and sustainable operating foundation within a regulated financial environment.
The engagement required alignment across several dimensions:
- •Building the local office network, endpoint, meeting collaboration, and workplace technology environment from the ground up;
- •Incorporating local data center resources into the overall infrastructure architecture to support business system operations, connectivity, and disaster recovery requirements;
- •Incorporating industry cloud resources into the overall technology architecture to support business system deployment, access paths, and future scalability;
- •Coordinating network connectivity and access paths across the workplace environment, local data center resources, and industry cloud environments;
- •Managing coordination across carriers, data center service providers, industry cloud providers, equipment vendors, property management, and group IT;
- •Ensuring that the infrastructure could support business system launch, access control, data transmission, backup, disaster recovery, and future expansion requirements;
- •Completing implementation, integration testing, remediation, and go-live readiness within a limited timeframe;
- •Establishing a foundation for post-launch local support, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement.
For the client, success was not defined simply by whether the environment could go live. The real measure was whether the technology foundation could support China operations in a stable, compliant, and manageable manner.
Our Engagement
As the client's digital and infrastructure partner for its China operations, ESUN Technology supported the key stages of the client's China FMC journey from establishment to operational readiness.
Our work covered:
- •Planning and implementation of the local workplace technology environment, including network, endpoints, meeting collaboration, and related office infrastructure;
- •Support for local data center infrastructure implementation, including network, servers, connectivity, deployment coordination, and go-live readiness;
- •Support for industry cloud environment implementation, including cloud resources, access paths, network connectivity, and foundational configuration coordination;
- •Coordination of the overall connectivity model across the workplace environment, local data center resources, and industry cloud environments;
- •Multi-party coordination among local carriers, data center service providers, industry cloud providers, equipment vendors, property management, and group IT teams;
- •Local alignment of group IT standards, information security requirements, and practical execution conditions in China;
- •Pre-launch testing, issue remediation, user move-in, and initial stabilization support;
- •Post-launch local infrastructure support, issue response, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement.
Throughout the engagement, our focus was not only on whether individual resources were delivered on time, but on whether they could come together as a truly operable, manageable, maintainable, and scalable local technology environment.
Outcome
The client successfully completed the local technology foundation build-out for its wholly foreign-owned fund management company in China and entered the operational phase as planned.
The environment covered workplace technology, local data center resources, and industry cloud environments, providing the foundation for system operations, daily workplace needs, business continuity, disaster recovery, and future expansion.
Following go-live, ESUN Technology continued to provide local technology and infrastructure support, assisting the client with day-to-day issues, vendor coordination, onsite response, and continuous improvement.
This engagement demonstrates ESUN Technology's integrated support capability in helping financial institutions establish China operations from zero. Beyond infrastructure delivery, ESUN Technology helped translate a complex technology foundation — across multiple environments, stakeholders, and regulated operating requirements — into a sustainable local operating capability.

U.S. Global Asset Manager
Local Enablement of Security, Compliance Platforms and Data Retention Capabilities Across Multiple China Entities
Client Overview
The client is a U.S.-based global asset manager with multiple business entities in China, covering corporate management, fund management, and wealth management-related operating scenarios.
As its China operations continued to develop, the client needed to deploy and operate group-level security, compliance, and risk management capabilities independently within the local China environment. These capabilities covered endpoint security, data protection, vulnerability management, exposure management, and communications and collaboration data retention.
For the client, this was not the rollout of a single security tool. It was the establishment of a local technical support capability across multiple China entities, workplace scenarios, and technology platforms, with clear responsibility boundaries, sustainable operations, and effective coordination.
ESUN Technology's role was not to process client business data or user data, nor to replace the client's security or compliance decision-making. Our role was to provide local technical support for the standalone deployment, operational support, vendor coordination, and ongoing enablement of client-designated platforms in China.
Challenge
The client's China operations involved multiple entities and operating contexts. Group-level security and compliance platforms needed to operate reliably in the local environment while aligning with local network conditions, endpoints, workplace environments, user scenarios, and vendor support models.
The complexity of the engagement did not lie in any single tool. It lay in enabling multiple security and compliance capabilities in China's local environment while ensuring that they could operate sustainably, be managed effectively, and remain aligned with group governance requirements.
The engagement required alignment across several dimensions:
- •Client-designated security and compliance platforms needed to be deployed independently and supported operationally within the local China environment;
- •Endpoint security, data protection, vulnerability management, and exposure management capabilities needed to be adapted to local networks, endpoints, and workplace conditions;
- •Communications and collaboration data retention capabilities required local deployment coordination, environment readiness, access path validation, and ongoing operational support;
- •Local prerequisites required for platform operations, including network, endpoint, account, access path, and related dependency conditions, needed to be reviewed and maintained;
- •Group security teams, local business teams, platform vendors, and local service providers needed a clear coordination model;
- •Platform go-live, policy implementation, user-side coordination, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance needed to be supported continuously;
- •Daily issues, risks, escalation items, and vendor coordination matters needed to be tracked and closed effectively.
For the client, the key objective was not to redefine its global security strategy. It was to ensure that existing security and compliance capabilities could be implemented, operated, and continuously supported in the local China environment.
Our Engagement
As the client's digital and infrastructure partner for its China operations, ESUN Technology provided local enablement support for security and compliance platforms across multiple China entities.
Our work covered:
- •Supporting the standalone local deployment, operational support, and vendor coordination of client-designated security and compliance platforms in China;
- •Supporting the local enablement of endpoint security, data protection, vulnerability management, and exposure management capabilities;
- •Supporting the local implementation of communications and collaboration data retention capabilities, including deployment coordination, environment readiness, access path validation, vendor coordination, and ongoing operational support;
- •Reviewing local prerequisites required for platform operations, including network, endpoint, account, access path, and related dependency conditions;
- •Coordinating execution items among group security teams, local business teams, platform vendors, and local service providers;
- •Supporting platform go-live, policy implementation, user-side coordination, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance;
- •Tracking and closing daily issues, risks, escalation items, and vendor coordination matters.
Throughout the engagement, responsibility boundaries were kept clear: the client remained responsible for security policies, data content, and compliance decisions; platform vendors remained responsible for product capabilities and platform services; ESUN Technology supported local technical enablement, coordination, and operational continuity in the China environment.
Outcome
The client progressively completed the local deployment, access enablement, and ongoing operational support of security and compliance platforms across multiple China entities.
The engagement helped improve the usability and manageability of group security and compliance capabilities in the local China environment, while reducing execution complexity across multiple platforms, vendors, and teams.
Through ongoing collaboration, ESUN Technology helped connect group security requirements, platform vendor capabilities, and local execution realities in China. This enabled endpoint security, data protection, vulnerability and exposure management, and communications and collaboration data retention capabilities to better support the client's China operations.
This engagement demonstrates ESUN Technology's local technical support capability in a multi-entity financial operating environment: without stepping into client data processing or replacing client security decision-making, ESUN Technology helped bridge complex platforms, vendors, and local operating conditions so that critical security and compliance capabilities could be implemented, operated, and properly supported.
Engagement start: 2023.
